Behind the Story
Renee wrote Crushed after talking with her daughter, who was at the stage of life where crushes feel enormous. Renee thought about all the romance stories where someone in a relationship develops a crush on someone else and immediately has to end the current relationship because the new crush must be “the one”. She wanted to show that you do not always have to chase the new crush, and that feeling attracted to someone else does not automatically mean your relationship is no good. She also wanted to show respectful teen LGBTQIA relationships.
