Behind the Story
After writing the picture book Special Dress Day, Renee decided to expand the concept into a beginner chapter book. She put a different coloured dress on the cover so the teacher friend who had asked for a pretty dress book for Book Week would have a choice about which colour dress to wear. The friend ended up choosing the purple dress from Special Dress Day, but Every Day is Special gave the idea more room to twirl.
