Behind the Story

Mind Reading is the fourth book in the Power Fusion series, and by this stage the story world is established enough that I’m having a lot of fun exploring different superpowers. Each book gives the characters a new ability to test, enjoy, misuse, and eventually understand a little better.

Mind reading felt like the perfect power to play with next because, at first, it sounds like the ultimate shortcut. You could know what people were thinking, find answers, solve problems, and maybe even get yourself out of trouble. But the more Isaac uses his power, the more he discovers that hearing people’s thoughts can be confusing, overwhelming, and not always fair. Like all the best superpowers, it is both fun and a burden.

This story gave me a chance to mix humour, friendship, odd jobs, animal rescues, and a gentle look at responsibility. Isaac’s adventure is about learning that having a power doesn’t automatically make you a hero—what matters is how you choose to use it.
