Sparky Says Sorry

A picture book about meaningful apologies

Sorry is not just a word. It is an action.

When Sparky’s zap knocks Beepo over twice during their park playdate, Beepo gets upset that Sparky does not seem to understand how his actions hurt her.

With Beepo’s guidance, Sparky learns that a meaningful apology means taking responsibility for mistakes and promising to do better.

Sparky Says Sorry is a heartwarming picture book for starting conversations about empathy, respect, responsibility, kindness and making amends.

Behind the Story

Sparky Says Sorry came from Renee working with students who would say sorry, then continue doing the thing they had just apologised for. She wanted to teach children what sorry really means: not just saying the word, but understanding the impact, taking responsibility and trying to do better. Also, she did not have a robot book yet, so Sparky rolled into the story.
