The Ordinary Fairy
A children’s fantasy about being magical without magic
What if a fairy did not have any magic?
Lily is the only fairy in the forest without magic. Desperate to be accepted into the magic circle, she seeks help from mermaids, faces a challenge and meets a wise owl who tells her she has a talent inside her if she can find it.
But Lily’s journey is not just about finding magic. It is about discovering that she does not need actual magic to be magical.
The Ordinary Fairy is a gentle fantasy story about self-discovery, acceptance and the quiet power of ordinary gifts.

Behind the Story
The Ordinary Fairy began with the question: what if a fairy did not have any magic? Renee loves magical creatures, but she relates even more to magical creatures who are ordinary, like her. She first imagined the story as a journey where the fairy would find the magic inside her all along. Then she realised the fairy did not need actual magic to be magical.
