This Puppy
A This and That rhyming picture book
This puppy’s licking her bowl clean. That puppy’s growl sounds very mean.
A fun, rhyming picture book for younger children featuring playful puppies, cheeky dog behaviour and simple read-aloud fun.
This Puppy takes the playful This and That structure and gives it a wagging tail. With rhythmic lines, familiar pet moments and plenty of puppy mischief, it is a bright little read for dog-loving children.
This Puppy is part of Renee Conoulty’s This and That series of short, playful rhyming picture books for younger children, animal lovers and early childhood read-aloud time.

Behind the Story
After writing This Kitten, Renee wanted to see whether the same playful rhyming structure would work with another much-loved pet. Dogs were the obvious next choice, because puppies can be just as cheeky, noisy and ridiculous as kittens. While writing it, Renee thought about the dogs from her own childhood and adulthood — Woodie, Micro, Dinky and Dudley — and the way each dog had its own personality, habits and funny little quirks.
